Over the last month, our
current host for ActionScript.com has been causing a number of problems. Earlier in February, they changed SQL servers on us, with no notice (causing the site to be down for almost a whole day). Now, in the last two days, the site has intermittently been up (much more down than up) as their application pool caused our content management system to become unresponsive.
We've been planning to move to a new host. In fact this post on this site is my first test on our new server. We're working to get our database backed up and install our content management system on the new server. Once all of that is done, we'll be moving ActionScript.com to the same server that HeavyFlash is on.

A few weeks ago,
Carlos Rovira was telling me about a very high-end Flash developer that he knew from Spain, Xavi Beumala. Xavi is a really good guy who has a lot of passion for Flash development (specifically Open Source Enterprise-Scale Flash development).
He's done some really great work. I've already seen his first article (which will be published tomorrow), and seen some of the ideas that he has for future articles. He's going to be a great asset to the Flash community and I'm glad that he chose to become a contributor at
ActionScript.com.
Welcome aboard Xavi!
